“Amanda was a pleasure to work with before, during, and after my wedding. She has incredible professionalism (responds to emails quickly, does her homework before the event (has a print-out list of all the moments / groups of people you want photographed)), makes you feel comfortable (on an otherwise crazy and hectic day), and has a special talent for getting large groups of people to cooperate in portrait pictures!! She also has a great eye for finding unique spots in Charlottesville that photograph well!! “Amanda was an absolute pleasure to work with from start to finish. She took the time to get to know us and understand what we wanted (a photojournalistic style), then delivered something even better than what we were hoping for. She was professional, punctual, and organized through every step of the process, which helped us feel really confident and relaxed going into the wedding. She is extremely thoughtful about how to navigate family relationships and dynamics during the photography process, and was fantastic at making everyone involved comfortable (which really showed in the photos!). All the kids at our wedding loved her, which resulted in sweet and memorable shots. Amanda dealt expertly with the big rainstorm on the wedding day by figuring out the right spots to take outdoor photos where we would be out of the rain, providing her own very nice clear umbrellas that photographed well, and being super efficient with all the family photos. In the end, it felt like a bonus that it rained, because the lighting was so beautiful. She had a very detailed plan for our photos but then did a lot of really creative and fast improvising to capture beautiful, unplanned moments. Amanda went above and beyond. She walked backwards for half a mile in the rain at night to capture our walk home with our friends, which blew us away. I will be recommending Amanda to every person I know who gets engaged. Anyone who gets to work with her will be so glad they did and can feel relaxed going into their wedding knowing that they don’t have to be everywhere at once, but Amanda will be. “We had Amanda for our May 4th wedding at James Monroe Highland. From the beginning, she was very personable and knowledgeable. For me, I really cared more about the ‘in action’ photos instead of the portraits. Her style is perfect for that. All of the photos turned out so well and there are so many that I keep finding new favorites every time I look at them! She ended up giving us just over 2500 photos! Her prices are in line with others that we had looked at, but I believe she gives you a lot more photos. Hands down would choose Amanda again for any photo needs in the Charlottesville area.”
